Residential and Commercial Radon Testing
We provide radon testing for both residential and commercial properties throughout Kentucky. This includes single-family homes, multi-family properties, offices, schools, and other occupied buildings.
Testing protocols are adjusted based on how the space is used and occupied to ensure accurate results and reliable recommendations.

Professional Radon Testing for Kentucky Residents
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is present in soil throughout Kentucky. It can enter homes and buildings through foundation cracks, crawl spaces, sump pits, and other openings, building up indoors to unsafe levels without any warning signs.
Because radon cannot be seen or smelled, testing is the only way to know if it is present in your space. Professional radon testing provides clear, measurable information so you can make informed decisions about your health and property.
Why Kentucky Radon Testing is Important
Kentucky is classified as a moderate to high radon risk state, with many counties identified by the Environmental Protection Agency as having elevated radon potential. The Kentucky Department for Public Health encourages radon testing for all homes, regardless of location, age, or construction type.
Homes in the same neighborhood can test very differently, and even new construction is not immune. Radon levels can also change over time due to soil conditions, weather, and home improvements, which is why periodic testing is recommended.

When You Should Test for Radon
RADON TESTING IS RECOMMENDED IF:
You have completed renovations that affect airflow or the foundation. Radon testing is commonly requested during real estate transactions, but homeowners should also test proactively to understand their indoor air quality.
• You are buying or selling a home in Kentucky.
• Your home has never been tested for radon.
• It has been more than two years since your last test.
• You have a basement or crawl space.
How We Test for Radon
We perform radon testing using professional, EPA-approved continuous radon monitors. The test is placed on the lowest livable level of the property and runs for a minimum of 48 hours under proper closed-house conditions.
After the test is complete, we provide a clear report showing the radon level measured in picocuries per liter (pCi/L). We take the time to explain the results and answer questions so you understand exactly what they mean.
Understanding Your Radon Test
Radon levels are measured in pCi/L:
- Below 2.0 pCi/L is considered low
- Between 2.0 and 3.9 pCi/L is moderate and may warrant consideration
- 4.0 pCi/L or higher is the EPA action level, where mitigation is recommended
If elevated levels are found, we will discuss next steps and explain radon mitigation options so you can decide what is best for your home or building.
